A Naked Gardener Leads Against Louisiana Energy Infrastructure
On January 9, the Louisiana CO2 Alliance announced that Renee Savant is stepping in as its new President. The group also said it plans to keep moving forward as a “nonpartisan, statewide clearinghouse for grassroots CCS efforts,” meaning it wants to be a central hub for people around Louisiana who are organizing against the oil and gas industry in Louisiana.
Interestingly, Savant isn’t exactly the quiet, behind-the-scenes type.
She’s been very vocal online, especially when it comes to President Donald Trump. Over and over, she’s gone after him in blunt terms, calling him “an idiot with idiots following him.” She also seemed to agree with a tweet that said, “Trump really is a f*****g idiot. A big f*****g idiot. Quite possibly the biggest f*****g idiot of all time.”
At the same time, Savant has complained that “Trump hate” was filling the country, even while keeping her own criticism loud and sharp.
Views that are hardly representative of the people of Louisiana, not to mention the legislature.
She’s also taken aim at Trump’s policies, including the Administration’s “zero-tolerance” approach at the border. And she’s attacked Trump personally too, calling him a “hypocrite” and a “draft dodger.” In one of her posts, she criticized him for standing “amidst all the flags, fireworks and military presence” while never serving himself. She’s also described Trump’s ego as being “in it’s grandest form.”
So while the Louisiana CO2 Alliance is calling itself “nonpartisan,” Savant’s public track record is definitely political, and not subtle about it.
Also worth noting, especially for readers new to her: Renee Savant is also a proud naked gardener.
Whether you see her as refreshingly honest or unnecessarily inflammatory, her new leadership role guarantees one thing: Louisiana’s fight over energy infrastructure is about to get a lot louder, and a lot weirder.
So why should you care what this naked gardener is up to?
It seems that the Louisiana CO2 Alliance is, surprise surprise, not a true grassroots organization. Once you dig a little deeper, the ties to far-left, anti-oil and gas groups like the Sierra Club and Rise St. James are very troubling and should give anyone who listens to this group great pause.
Groups like the Sierra Club have long tried to infiltrate Louisiana and destroy the oil and gas industry. It seems that the Louisiana CO2 Alliance has open the tent for that camel’s nose. More to come…
